I love the excitement of creativity. I am inspired by textures in nature and organic imagery. Most of my work, particularly in the more abstract pieces, reflect the experience of curiosity and wonder, opening the viewers eye to their own interpretations.
Initially I would be drawn to certain images, and I would interpret these using textures and materials that would lend themselves to my quest - anything from dried banana leaf to coloured candlewax. Then after attending an art workshop in Tennessee, America, I felt confident enough in the use of textural products to embark of a journey of self exploration and expression
Texture is central to my work, and the unpredictable nature of the mediums I use encourages me to experiment continually with different products. Recently I have been experimenting with back-lit paintings using fluid acrylic and lightboxes. The technique gives an added dimension to my work. An example of this is below:

Having had a background in teaching, I delight in sharing and facilitating workshops and individual tuition.
I never want to stop playing and learning!
